Corporate influence borders on fascism

overturnThe “Citizens United” ruling and the more recent McCutcheon ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court gives wealthy individuals such as the Koch brothers and large corporations the power to buy elections and to own politicians. Many of these rich individuals and corporations also control and fund think tanks and foundations and many of these foundations have banded together and formed an entity known as the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). ALEC’s purpose is to formulate a right-wing legislative agenda that is designed to benefit the rich oligarchs. These ALEC sponsored laws include voter suppression laws and privatization schemes.
