It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Iowa’s privatized Medicaid system is a complete mess, but it is the patients and providers who continue to suffer. For some, the nearest healthcare provider is well over an hour away. For others, months go by without getting paid for their work. To add insult to injury, two private companies will now be in charge of the same network of patients and providers that, until now, has been (mis)managed by three. If you have been personally affected by this disastrous experiment, or would just like to show solidarity with the providers and patients, please attend DHS’s public comment meeting in Des Moines on December 5th.
WHAT: DHS “IA Health Link” (Privatized Medicaid) Public Comment Meeting
WHEN: Tuesday, December 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM
WHERE: Des Moines Central Library, Meeting Rooms 1 & 2 – 1000 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309
WHY: To demand a better system for patients and providers suffering under a mismanaged privatized Medicaid system
