Unions rally support for striking Walmart workers

A handful of striking Walmart workers found strong support for their cause Thursday as they brought the Making Change at Walmart campaign to a Davenport union hall.

A group of nearly 20 United Food and Commercial Workers, or UFCW, union representatives and organizers were on hand to greet the four workers at UFCW Local 431. The workers — all on an unfair labor practices strike from Walmart stores in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Minnesota — spoke to the roomful of union leaders and other activists about the working conditions that have prompted them to walk off the job.
