Volunteers in Eastern Iowa work to feed people in need

thanksgivingmealprepIn Waterloo, a Thanksgiving meal took place Monday night.

At least 800 people packed the UAW Hall in Waterloo, to get in line for a hot meal. The assembly line works with the help of some volunteers.

“It’s such a well oiled machine I like to say. Everyone knows their part and it goes off so well,” Volunteer Julie Gage said.

This is the 35th year of the dinner. It’s a partnership between the UAW and Veridian Credit Union.

“Then I also have about 30 people that you won’t see here tonight but they’re out delivering meals on the community,” Gage said.

The meal is open to anyone in the community.
