The Iowa AFL-CIO joins Iowa labor unions and elected leaders across the state in endorsing Vernon’s campaign against vulnerable first-term Republican Congressman Rod Blum.

“We are proud to endorse Monica Vernon,” said Ken Sagar, President of the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. “Monica’s known for bringing folks together, no matter their background, and getting real results. Right now, Iowans are getting left behind. We know Monica will always do what’s right and prioritize Iowa families over partisan politics. We look forward to doing everything we can to make sure Monica wins in November.”

“The fight is just beginning,” said Monica Vernon. “We have so much at stake in this election. Congress needs to stop playing political games and get to work on the critical issues important to so many Iowans. It’s time we grow an economy that works for everyone, invest in our people right here at home and give our workers and small business owners the fair shot they deserve. In Congress, you can count on me to always put the interests of Iowa’s hardworking families first.”

The Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO represents over 50,000 union members and 520 unions across the state of Iowa.
