Grassley pressed to advance judicial nominees
DES MOINES — “Justice delayed is justice denied,” Sue Dinsdale said Wednesday as she stood next to 21 empty chairs meant to symbolize the 21 federal judge nominees awaiting confirmation.
Dinsdale was among a handful of protesters who stood outside the federal building in downtown Des Moines on Wednesday to put pressure on U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, to advance more federal judge nominees.
Federal judges are nominated by the president and vetted and approved by the U.S. Senate.
